Abstract

|
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick borne disease reported in the rural areas of China since 2009. The clinical manifestations could be varied from fever, thrombocytopenia, vomiting, and diarrhea, to neurologic abnormalities and multiple organs dysfunction, caused by SFTS virus in the Bunyaviridae family. However, the generalized seizure is very rare clinical feature in SFTS. We report a case of SFTS encephalopathy revealed generalized seizure and stuporous mentality with review of literature.
